Our Research

Our  research  will  create  new  knowledge  about  the  aspects  of  STEM  culture  that  serve  to  promote or impede LGBTQ inclusion and equality in STEM.  It will help us understand how LGBTQ individuals in STEM are disadvantaged  by assumptions  and biases, and we will learn what role deans, faculty and students play in promoting or impeding LGBTQ equality.  We will use this new  knowledge to tailor Safe Zone training to make it highly relevant and practical for STEM faculty. Our logic framework (see below) details the goals, objectives and expected outcomes of the project.
